Sigma Statistics - Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy for Sigma Statistics (Last updated: 4th June 2026)

This Privacy Polcy explains how Sigma Statistics (“the App”) handles data when used by users.

1. General Information
Sigma Statistics is a desktop application designed for statistical analysis of tabular research data. The App allows users to import datasets, perform statistical analyses, review results, and export output files such as Excel and DOCX documents.

2. Data Collection
Sigma Statistics does not collect, transmit, sell, share, or store personal information on external servers.

All datasets imported by the user are processed locally on the user’s device. The App does not upload imported data, statistical results, exported files, or user-generated content to the developer, to GBM Consulting, or to third parties.

3. Data Processed Locally
The App may process data selected or imported by the user, including tabular research data. Depending on the user’s own files, such data may contain personal, clinical, scientific, or institutional information.

This processing takes place locally on the user’s device for the purpose of performing statistical analyses and generating results.

4. Exported Files
Users may export statistical results to Excel and DOCX files. These exported files are created locally and saved only to the location selected by the user.

The App does not automatically transmit exported files to the developer or to any third party.

5. Internet Connection and Third-Party Services
Sigma Statistics does not require a user account and does not use cloud storage, analytics tracking, advertising networks, or telemetry systems.

If external libraries or resources are loaded as part of the App environment, they are used solely to provide application functionality. No user datasets are intentionally transmitted by Sigma Statistics to external services.

6. User Responsibility
Users are responsible for the data they import, analyze, export, store, or share using the App.

Users must ensure that they have the necessary rights and permissions to process any personal, clinical, research, or institutional data in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, including data protection and confidentiality requirements.

7. Data Retention
Sigma Statistics does not maintain a central database and does not retain user datasets or results on external servers.

Any files saved by the user remain under the user’s control on their own device or storage location.

8. Data Sharing
Sigma Statistics does not share user data with third parties.

The developer does not have access to user-imported datasets, statistical results, or exported files unless the user voluntarily provides such files for support or communication purposes.

9. Support Communication
If users contact GBM Consulting for support, they may voluntarily provide information such as their name, email address, app-related questions, screenshots, log information, or example files.

Such information is used only to respond to the support request and is not sold or used for advertising.

10. Security
Because data processing is performed locally, users are responsible for securing their own device, storage location, exported files, and backups.

Users should avoid importing or sharing sensitive data unless they are authorized to do so and have appropriate safeguards in place.

11. Children’s Privacy
Sigma Statistics is not directed to children and is intended for professional, academic, clinical, or research use.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The updated version will be made available on this page.
